This meal is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Added bonus: it’s quick and easy!
You start by making some oatmeal. I like this 10 grain kind from Bob’s Red Mill, but any kind of hot cereal will do.
I should probably mention too that you shouldn’t add any sweeteners when cooking the oatmeal, because, well it’s a savory dish. Just a little salt with the water.
When the hot cereal is cooked, spread it out on a plate, and top with some ricotta cheese and a fried egg. I also top the whole thing with freshly ground black pepper and course salt.
Then, this part is optional (but totally not for me, since you all should know about my love affair with hot sauce by now), douse the whole thing in Cholula.
- 1 serving of oatmeal or any kind of hot cereal, prepared per package directions
- ¼ cup of ricotta cheese
- 1 fried egg
- salt and pepper
- Place the oatmeal on a plate and top with the ricotta cheese and fried egg. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
